Do You rush to save Face?

Hey Guys,

How are you and hope your weekend was fab. I didn't get to do much this weekend due to the weather and this recent thing plaguing me called "Sleep". When it rains, it just become sweeter and I take it as a sign to snuggle in bed as long as I can. *rollmyeyes*.

Recently, I had a discussion with my Pastor Mo (God bless his soul for those words in season). This time we were talking about how we rush to save face when the chips are down and as such, take some kind of decisions which would hurt us ultimately. How quickly we take a stance to do something in order to maintain that good status in front of the populace so that we would not be judged and in this part of the world, people tend to take "Judgement" seriously. You want to bypass the side-eye, the gossips, the "I be think say she dey form good girl since, see as fowl butt don open as breeze blow", "I be think say.........." blah blah blah comments.

One thing, we tend to forget is that we serve a God who is not fazed by what man says and does what he wants to do at the time he wants. He does not cower and hide his head in the sand because Atheists and blasphemers mock him.

Even us as Christians sometimes base our knowledge of him by what he does for us and when he does not give us what we want, we lose faith. Does that make him any lesser of a God than he already is? Does that make him come down and give us a show of his power in other to prove a point? The answer is a big NO.

Let us have a mindset like Jesus who took on the shame of bearing the cross, labeled as a criminal, laughed on, given vinegar to drink, and crucified amongst criminals. Imagine how low that must have been for him, a Lord of all, who performed great miracles, caste out demons who bowed down to him, was called to the houses of the rich and mighty, had multitude of followers, was an important name to reckon with during that period. He looked beyond the shame unto the glory ahead to be at the right hand of the father for eternity and redeeming us from sin (Heb 12:2).

Let us 'FIX our eyes upon him who is the author and the finisher of our faith, know that he had gone through the same emotions with us and he is ready to be a source of support through the low times (Heb 5:2; 2 Cor 4:17, Ps 147:3, Rom 5: 3 - 5). Everything is for a season and nothing last forever (Eccl 3: 1 - 8). "Now no chastening for the present seemth to be Joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore, lift up the hands which hang down and the feeble knees" (Heb 12: 11 - 13).

Remember that you do not have to create a great impression on man, only that for God matters!!!
