Two weeks after wearing the protective style of kinky braids, I observed that the hair at my temple were stressed and almost pulling off. This was also my exam week and I sorely missed my afro, what better reason than to take off the braids (I did a breathe of relief when the braids were off and the wind blew my hair).
Styling Kinky Braids to the Workplace
Further to my previous post on protective styles for my lil fro in the form of kinky braids, I have been stuck in a rut on ideas to style them to work after letting it run wild and curly last week.
Youtube and blogs didn't help either as most of the styles were not for the workplace especially mine that is very conservative in nature.
So I decided to style the braids based on my own inspiration and also do a couple of posts to help other readers who might be in the same dire situation as mine.
Below are pictures on how I styled my kinky to work yesterday (never mind the poor quality of the pictures, I am not yet accustomed to carrying my Canon EOS camera about before my colleagues gives me the 'eye'). Tega did me the honours of being my photographer for the day.
Ideas on styling kinky braids for the professional environment are also welcome.

Apologies for the long absence. I have been super duper busy with work and exam preparations.

Taking time out to take care of yourself is a must do for everyone and it is even therapeutic in nature.

How have you guys been? Sorry I have been AWOL, was so swamped with work amongst other activities. I have really missed you though.
My Keeping fit with TW still continues, it's not being easy being tempted in so many ways (who knew food would look so inviting after some days of vegetables) but still I persevere as I know good things do not come easy.

Looking After Coloured Hair
Experimenting with hair colour can be a fun way of changing your day to day looks, especially when planning to apply the big chop to your hair.
However, this also comes with additional responsibilities as we are trying to avoid having more hair problems e.g. split ends, hair breakage etc as we do not want your hair falling off your scalp, or do we? I think not.

I am a sucker for being and keeping fit. Just that like any other Lagosian (yea, I think I have earned the right to be called so), the hustle and bustle of this crazy town tend to make you lazy and have bad eating habits.
I have been succumbing to this and sadly, my mid-section now looks like a woman in her first trimester of pregnancy. My sexy is out of the window.
Then I heard of the TW Fitness Challenge where I would have access to the gym, nutritionist and fitness jnstructor for 12 weeks. The best part is that the winner gets to be on the cover of the TW Magazine with Kate Henshaw. I rushed to apply and was selected *yayyyyyy!!!!!!*.
